Anil Chavali Srinivas Rao (1964) is a digital artist and creative writer (fiction and graphic novels) known for his ability to create his artwork purely via the computer - keyboard and mouse.[1]
Biography
Anil Chavali Srinivas was born in 1964 at the Neeloufer Hospital in Hyderabad, India, to his medical doctor parents, Dr(s) Kusuma and (late) Krishna Rao.[2] He immigrated with his parents to the United States in 1969, but due to his deep love of his country of birth, Hyderabad, he maintained knowledge of his "mother tongue" - Telugu - and visited his city of birth on summer holidays from 1973 onwards.
His spouse, Padmaja Attota, is a self-taught painter and drawer, and is used to correct any flaws in the final books with respect to artwork.
His father's father, CVH RAO[3] passed away at age 59. At that time, his family had already immigrated to the States and were living in Boston when news of his death arrived. He was an orthodox Andhra Brahmin and followed all the "Golden Rules" with respect to religion, diet, and lifestyle. He was the author of Civil Disobedience Movements in India & India's Case for Freedom.[4]
He found these titles after a search on the internet in 2004 – a book or books that no one in his surviving family (including his own father) was aware of. Name, fame, fortune meant nothing to him – only the propagation of the teachings and values of Mahatma Gandhi.
Career
Anil Chavali Srinivas' Hiro Comics is what can be considered, given the time and resources required, and hence due to the heavy opportunity costs, a very expensive hobby. Despite the fact Rao finds the activity to be engaging, he acknowledges that this "hobby" is unsustainable from a financial perspective. Rao has been creating comics since 2009, and in 2012 he attended the first India Comicon held in New Delhi’s Dilli Haat venue, where three of his initial forays placed on FHM India magazine’s Top 17 Comic Books of 2012.
He hopes to present his current works-in-progress, titled THE ENGINEER & CONTRACTOR[5] and VIZAG BLUE[6] – at the forthcoming October 2023 Hyderabad Comicon, held bi-annually at HiTech City, and the publication will be offered in the Telugu language besides English.
