Animal Behavior College (ABC) is a private vocational school in Santa Clarita[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

History

ABC was founded in 1998 by Steven Appelbaum and was incorporated in September 2001. A dog trainer, Appelbaum was the President of Animal Behavior and Training Associates, Inc., an independent American dog training company. For the first ten years, ABC focused on teaching people to become dog trainers. In 2008, the Veterinary Assistant certificate program was offered, and the Pet Grooming certificate program began two years later in 2010. In October 2022, ABC launched a new service dog training program. As of 2022, ABC had graduated 35,541 students, including 18,684 students from the dog trainer program.

Through the program, students train and socialize dogs to increase their chances of being adopted. Ninety percent of ABC students participate in Students Saving Lives. Since the program's inception, ABC students have volunteered for over 185,000 hours to shelters across North America.
