1992 January 16. He was born at Malda, a small town in West Bengal, India. He completed his master’s degree from Visva-Bharati university, established by Rabindranath Tagore. He directed his first short film when he was pursuing his academic degree. *The Separation* was his first film based on the history of partition in 1947. Then he made *The Freedom*, *Fetish*, *The Girlhood*, *Before the Dawn...Night*, *The Pure Soul*, and last but not the least, *Letter to the Lime Light*.
