Anjumani Bora (born 10 February 1999), known professionally as Anju Panchi[2] (Assamese: অঞ্জু পাঞ্চি) is an Indian singer, actor, director and musical artist who brings together influences of her Indian-Assamese heritage to create music that is refreshingly unique and contemporary, seamlessly fusing together the intricacies of Indian folk music with elements of electronic and hip-hop for an undeniably catchy sound.[3]
Early life and education
Anju was born in Guwahati (1999) and later shifted to Mangaldoi for her further education. She was born to father Ghanthir Bora, an Indian Police Officer of Assam, and mother Khunu Bora, a former teacher. She did her graduation from Mangaldai College in Geography in 2019.
Work
She is known for her Indian Folk music under the banner of Eikhon Axom Hoi Bhai Media, which was co-founded by her. Anju's debut album Asutiyakoi Tholu[4] was a great success. She gained popularity in her very first album due to her sweet voice. Saat Ghator Sengeli[5] was a popular Indian Folk-Bihu album in 2021. She directed Saat Ghator Sengeli herself. She is also featured in the magazine cover of Ramdhenu Assam E-magazine 5th edition, March 2021[6].
