Anjumani Bora (born 10 February 1999), known professionally as Anju Panchi[2] (Assamese: অঞ্জু পাঞ্চি) is an Indian singer, actor, director and musical artist who brings together influences of her Indian-Assamese heritage to create music that is refreshingly unique and contemporary, seamlessly fusing together the intricacies of Indian folk music with elements of electronic and hip-hop for an undeniably catchy sound.[3]
Early life and education[edit]
Anju was born on Guwahati (1999) and later shifted to Mangaldoi for her further education. She was born to father Ghanthir Bora, a Indian Police Officer of Assam, and mother Khunu Bora, a former teacher. She did her graduation from Mangadai College in Geography in 2019.
Work[edit]
She is known for her Indian Folk music under the banner of Eikhon Axom Hoi Bhai Media, which was co-founded by her. Anju's debut album Asutiyakoi Tholu[4] was a grerat success. She gained popularity in her very first album due to her sweet voice. Saat Ghator Sengeli[5] was a popular Indian Folk-Bihu album in 2021. She directed Saat Ghator Sengeli herself. She us also featured in the magazine cover of Ramdhenu Assam E-magazine 5th edition, March 2021[6].
