Ankesh Shahra

Ankesh Shahra is the Founder and Managing Director of Agrimax Ventures, Singapore. The company innovates smart technologies that can tackle farming inefficiencies in emerging markets and boost agricultural productivity while balancing the concerns surrounding food safety and quality. Ankesh is well-known in adopting innovative technologies and bringing them to life at a grassroots level.

Ankesh was born in Mumbai on December 04th, 1986. He studied at Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai and went to Northwestern University in 2005 for further studies. He attended Singapore Management University in 2008 and at the same time set up the regional headquarters for his family’s commodities business in Singapore. He has developed a supply chain and proprietary trading platform for the group that focuses on value trading and arbitrage opportunities in the physical markets. His previous experiences include setting up a Research desk in India to calculate yield estimates using crop cutting experiments, satellite data feeds, weather models and field surveys enabling a more quantitative approach to trading strategies. He has assisted in setting up agricultural plantations for the company in several countries and marketed bulk and packaged commodities into various global markets.
