Ann Kroeber

Ann Kroeber (born September 13, 1946) is an American sound recordist, sound designer, and sound editor.

She has done sound design, recording and editorial for Academy Award-winning films like Dead Poets Society (1989), The English Patient (1996), Gladiator (2000), and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). She has also worked with influential directors like David Lynch, Carroll Ballard, George Lucas, Robert Redford, and M. Night Shyamalan. Her sounds have also been contributed to games such as Playdead’s puzzle-platformer INSIDE.[1]

Kroeber was married to sound designer Alan Splet and collaborated with him on many projects[1] from 1979 until his death in 1994.[2] Together, the sounds they recorded and created formed the basis of the Splet-Kroeber Library[1] which became known as Sound Mountain.[3]
