Anna Maria Mickiewicz, née Radomińska (born 1960 in Lublin, Poland) [1] – Polish-British poet, essayist, translator, publisher and journalist.
Curriculum vitea[edit]
Anna Maria Mickiewicz was born in 1960 in Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University. She also learned psychotherapy from Tadeusz Kobierzycki, who continued the tradition of the School of Mental Hygiene of prof. Kazimierz Dąbrowski in Warsaw, and drama from Waldemar Sidor's Theatre Workshops in Lublin. She received certificates in Media Studies from Birkbeck, University of London. In London, she founded the poetry publishing house Literary Waves Publishing.
In the 1980s, she co-edited the independent magazine Wywrotowiec (The Subversive) issued by the Inter-University Committee of Defence of Political Prisoners, in Poland. Since then, her articles have been published in many national and foreign magazines. She was associated with the literary movement and the environment around prof. Tadeusz Kobierzycki, who continued the work of prof. Kazimierz Dąbrowski, creator of the theory of positive disintegration. After the political breakthrough in 1989, she joined the new official independent media in Poland. She worked as a journalist in the Gazeta Lubelska – Dzień (Lublin Gazette – The Day). At the Paderewski International High School in Lublin, she created an original program dedicated to journalism and communication. The program received an award from the Stefan Batory Foundation. In 1991, she left Poland with her family and went to the United States (California). She has lived in London since 1995.
Activities[edit]
She belongs to the Association of Polish Writers Abroad. In the years 2000–2011, she served on its Management Board, and is currently a member of the Union of Polish Writers Abroad Opinion Council She is a member of The English Pen and the Polish Pen Club. She served as the chair of the California State Poetry Society Literary Award Jury and the Jury of the International Literary Award of K. M. Anthru in India, the Jury of the Joseph Conrad Award (USA) and the Chapter of the Garden of Poetry Medal (London). She belongs to several London poetry groups, including: Enfield Poets, The Highgate Society's Poetry Group, Exiled Writers Ink. She co-edited and reformed the London literary journal Pamiętnik Literacki (Literary Diary). He cooperates with the Polish literary website Pisarze.pl and the American publishing house Dreeammy Little City (Orlando). For the latter, she prepared periodic poetry and literary anthologies Contemporary Writers of Poland. Together with University College London, with the participation of international poetry groups, she conducted poetry meetings as part of the UNESCO World Poetry Day - European Literary Dialogues. She is a member of the Programme Council of Macierz Szkolna (Polish Educational Society) in London. With the British translator Noel Clark, she participated in the creation of the Eagle and Lion exhibition, which was presented during Queen Elizabeth II's visit to Poland in March 1996. For many years she worked as a foreign correspondent for Polish press, describing cultural and literary events in Great Britain.

Married to Tomasz Marek Mickiewicz, Prof. of economics in Great Britain. A son, Stanisław Stan Mickiewicz (1986-2023) was an economist, translator, editor of the Literary Waves Publishing London.
