Anne Marie Wright (born November 9, 2005) is an American singer, dancer, actress, and violinist. She has performed in over 22 shows in and around the Joplin, Missouri area, including plays, musicals, and operas. She also runs her own small business where she works as a "princess party performer". [1]

Life and career[edit]

Wright is a 11th grade student in Webb City High School, where she is a member of the mixed-gender Webb City Singers and female-only Bella Voce show choir groups.

Wright has a passion for music and theatre. She started violin and dance lessons at age five, and became involved with Joplin Little Theatre at age six. She also loves to bake and is always interested in trying new recipes. The rest of her free time is enjoyed with family and friends.[2] She had a small role in the "Kiddie Show" in Gypsy that same year and has been "hooked" ever since.[3]

She has performed in several other Joplin Little Theater shows since 2013; as she played in the role of "Bad Seed" and "To Kill a Mockingbird".[4][5]

From July 25th to 29th, 2018, Wright played in a children's summer production at JLT, Vaudeville Extravaganza & Melodrama. The play was directed by Gary Roney and Tegan Whited.[6][7] Wright also played in A Swingin’ Little Christmas, directed by Breana Clark, from December 5th to the 9th.[8]The same year, she also served as a Junior Counselor for the theatre’s summer workshop program.

In June and July 2021, Wright was featured in the cast of the Joplin High School summer musical based on the film Shrek, where she played Fiona.[9]

In 2022, Wright won first place in the Lower HS Division for the NATS Vocal Music Competition in the Central Region. The same year, she played in Man of La Mancha at JLT.

In April 2022, Wright, along with another Webb City student, Bethanie Day, were selected to attend the Fine Arts Academy at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Bethanie was selected for theatre, and Anne Marie Wright was selected for vocal music.[10] The two students later received Missouri Fine Arts Academy scholarships. [11]

In May 2022, Wright was rated gold (for the vocal solo) and silver (for the SATB quartet featuring Gavin Burdette, Lily Clark, and Silas Frank) in the Missouri state music awards. [12]
