Anne Wellmer is a composer/performer, sound and media artist born in Germany and based in The Hague in the Netherlands.
She grew up in Konstanz am Bodensee (1974–1990), studied electronic music at the Institute of Sonology (1993-1997 Diploma) in The Hague and composition of experimental music at Wesleyan University (2001–2003 MA) in Middletown, CT (USA). In 2007 she received an Honorary Mention at Ars Electronica in the category Digital Musics. 2013–2016 she returned to the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague to disclose the archive of Dutch composer and artist Dick Raaymakers as part of a second Masters degree. Since 2017 she has been teaching a course on experimental music within the context of the Society for Nontrivial Pursuits (S4NTP) at the Berlin University of the Arts. Anne Wellmer is founding member of New Emergences Foundation.
