Nicolas Dupuis, known professionally as Anomalie, is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist, classically trained keyboardist and producer from Montreal, Quebec.

Early Life[edit]

Nicolas Dupais was born on October 10, 1993 in Montreal, QC[1]. He began studying classical and jazz piano performance at a young age. He also became the first person to be awarded the Yannick Nézet-Séguin (Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitain, Rotterdams Philharmonisch) excellence grant in 2012[2]. Shortly after, Dupais began producing a combination of classical music, jazz, hip hop and funk under the moniker Anomalie.

Career[edit]

Anomalie made his debut on Gramatik’s Lowtemp label with his single “Odyssée” in April of 2016. After playing as Gramatik’s keyboard player on his “Epigram” live tour for a year, he soon after released his debut EP, Métropole, which garnered close to 4 million hits through performance videos of the tracks and streaming platforms.[3]

In January 2018, Anomalie announced his North American tour debuting his live show - featuring a 4-piece band recreating all his music live, selling out most dates on the tour] Soon after he was recruited by Gramatik to play live keyboards during his sets in 2017. Later that year, he released his debut EP, Métropole.

The awareness for Anomalie’s project has been bolstered by the success of his online viral videos featuring his technical keyboard performances of the Metropole EP, which have garnered close to 6 million views across platforms.[4]

In January 2018, Anomalie announced his North American tour debuting his live show - featuring a 4-piece band recreating all his music live, selling out most dates on the tour.
