Background[edit]
Judy Garland came down with a serious bout of Hepatitis in 1959. Doctors told her she had only 5 years to live, and that she would be a semi-invalid the rest of her life. They also told her she would never work again.
However, she worked steadily throughout 1960. By June 8th, she was back in the recording studio, for her album, That's Entertainment!
For her tour, she arrived in Europe, for the first leg of the tour, on July 14th. She then recorded a planned album, The London Sessions.
The first leg of the tour helped John F. Kennedy's campaign. From March 8th-19th, Judy took a brief break from touring to film her supporting role in Judgment at Nuremberg. She also took a break in October, to record Sweet Danger and Come's Once in a Lifetime for Capitol Records.
