Interesting Historical Event[edit]

Anoziva's grew up in the high-density suburb of Mufakose, her family fell on hard times and her primary education fees had to be paid for by the Social Welfare for 2 years. After finishing her A' Level's she opted to start working and it is while on her first job that her passion for advocacy would be ignited. In 2009, while working on a sex and behavioural change campaign in Zimbabwe's Mashonaland East Province she met a 12-year-old girl in a rural farming community in Mutoko, who had gone through a miscarriage and while this shocked her and her colleagues the community treated the case as something normal. As she travelled across the rural and farming communities she was confronted with similar stories of child marriages, abuse and gender injustice. These realities pushed her to study and pursue a career in journalism and bring to light the plight girls and women and to advocate for their rights, and socioeconomic empowerment.

Journalism Career[edit]

In 2013, in her last year of her journalism school, she together with seven of her college friends decided to make use of their new media training and started an online development magazine called Paradoka, giving female Journalism students and gender activists a platform to share their stories in their own voice and bring issues important to Zimbabwean women to the African gender and development discourse on and offline. She is currently an editor of the Young African Leaders Journal of Development (YALJOD) first edition (2016) and the second edition (2018).
