Anschutz Family Foundation

The Anschutz Family Foundation is a private foundation based in Denver, Colorado. It was founded in 1982 by Fred and Marian Pfister Anschutz,[1] the parents of Colorado rancher Sue Anschutz-Rodgers, who serves as chair and president, and of Philip Anschutz, a billionaire businessman.[2] From 1982-2022, the foundation distributed 10,964 grants to nonprofit organizations for a total of $63.3 million of giving.[3]

The foundation has EIN 74-2132676 as a 501(c)(3) Private Nonoperating Foundation; in 2024 it claimed $5,012,867 in total revenue and $63,611,207 in total assets.[4] Its mission is "Giving primarily for civic, community and capacity building, economic development, neighborhoods, crisis intervention, disabled people, food, shelter and the homeless, low income housing, self-sufficiency, families, literacy, senior programs, and youth development and children."[5]

The Foundation for a Better Life is funded solely by the foundation.[6]
