Ante Badzim

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ante Badzim is an Australian photographer who completed his studies in Photography, Photomedia and Photojournalism in the renowned School of Art & Design at the Australian National University in Canberra and Photography Studies College in Melbourne.

Based in Sydney, an award-winning exhibiting artist who fell in love with photography early in life. His journey into photography started when he inherited his parent's camera at the age of 10, which continues to play an important role in his life. Whether it was at school, or using his family and friends as subjects, taking photos became a passion, a distraction, and a lifeline.

He aims to capture images that showcase a sense of calmness and simplicity, images that cut through the noise of daily life. This is in direct contrast to the obstacles we face, making the images he creates a personal challenge.

In his MIDDLE BEAUTY exhibition Ante Badzim explored the unified beauty of the Middle East and challenges preconceived notions of this mysterious part of the world. Embarking on an adventure to the Middle East with somewhat clouded views of the region, his journey quickly evolved into one of great discovery. Travelling from a 200-year-old village in the mountains of Oman to the endless ochre deserts in Jordan. This exploration captured the unspoken beauty of towns, cities and the people that freckle the desert plains all the way back to the mountain peaks. MIDDLE BEAUTY was exhibited in Melbourne at Rokeby Gallery in late 2017 and concluded in Sydney Vandal Gallery in May, 2019.

In November 2018 Ante exhibited at Art Asia that showcases emerging artists and galleries with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and provides opportunities to enter the developing Asian art market. There Ante was represented by Asian Art Group, Masterpix and Corning where a series of images focused on a harmonised aesthetic to appeal to the South Korean and general Asian market.
