Anthony (UK: /ˈæntəni/, US: /ˈænθəni/) Babatunde Akinyemi (born May 1, 1961) is a Nigerian pastor and computer engineer. He is from Oyan, Osun State in Nigeria. He is currently the Lead Pastor of The Shepherd's Flock Int'l Church. He is often referred to as Rev. Tony.

Early Life

Rev. Tony was born on May 1, 1961 in Atobiase, Ghana. He started his Primary School education in September 1967 in Ghana before he moved back to Nigeria with his parents in December 1969 at the age of 8. He attended six different primary schools because his parents kept relocating. His parents were traders. They traded in diamonds and other items. He finally completed his Primary School education in June 1973 in Nigeria at the age of 12 with Grade A in his Primary School Leaving Certificate.

After completing his primary school education, his parents could not afford to send him to secondary school, so they wanted him to learn bicycle repairing, but he refused. He chose to work and save money to sponsor himself through school. He worked as a domestic servant for 4 years. He saved all the money he received and sponsored himself through school.

He attended St. Joseph's College, Ondo State from September 1977 to June 1982 and graduated with 8 A’s in his WASSCE.

Family

Rev. Tony was born to Ezekiel Ayinla Akinyemi (d. 1996) and Rebekah Aarinade Akinyemi (d. July 2001). He has seven surviving siblings.

He is married to Adetutu Akinyemi and they are blessed with three biological children; Melody, Lovelyn, and David. They are also blessed with many spiritual children.

Education and Training

He attended the University of Ife [1](now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Nigeria from September 1982 to June 1987 as one of the pioneer Computer Engineering students of the university. He graduated as the best student in Computer Engineering.

During his time in university, he was the Chairman of the “UNIFE JOINT CHRISTIAN MISSION” (UJCM) in 1984. He was also the Bible Study Secretary of the Evangelical Christian Union (ECU) in 1986.

Ministry

Rev. Tony was born again in April 1978. He was baptized in water at the National Youth Camp, Ajebo in August 1978 by the late Rev. E. A. Bankole. He got baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues in August 1978 at the Foursquare National Youth Camp meeting, Ajebo, Ogun State, Nigeria.

He got called into ministry through a divine encounter with God on March 22, 1983 at the Sports Centre of UNIFE and commenced ministry as an itinerant Bible teacher and minister of the gospel.

He was ordained in November 1998 in the The Foursquare Church by the then General Overseer, Rev. (Dr.) Gabriel Olu Farombi.

He was called into Pastoral ministry and pioneered the Oregun Foursquare Gospel Church in February 1993 and pastored the church till December 2003[2]. He was also the Zonal Superintendent of the Oregun Zone of the Foursquare Church in Nigeria, with oversight for 15 local congregations, three of which were in Eruwa, Igbo-Ora & Lanlate respectively in Oyo State of Nigeria, and one in Douala, Cameroon.

He started The Shepherd's Flock International Church in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria[3] with his wife and a few brothers & sisters in Christ on February 1, 2004.
