Anthony Broad-Crawford

He is best known for his work on StartupBus and SpotHero.
Born in Minnesota, Broad-Crawford grew up in southern California in the town of Tustin, California, and majored in Computer Science at Bowling Green State University.
Early music career
Broad-Crawford’s childhood and early adult life were focused primarily on music. Broad-Crawford attended the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts, toured Europe multiple seasons with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp youth orchestra, was a member of the University of Michigan youth symphony orchestra and others (Western Michigan University, Michigan State University, Lansing, Michigan Symphonic Orchestra).
Open web & open source involvement
Throughout his career, Broad-Crawford has contributed to multiple technology non-profits in the Dataportability sector, specifically serving on the board of directors for DataPortability.org and the OpenWeb Foundation.[1]. Additionally, Broad-Crawford has been a strong advocate of many open technologies such as OAuth, PubSubHubBub, and ActivityStreams and advocated for their use across various healthcare channels including Pharmaceutical, Hospital, and Continuing Education.
In addition to standards, Broad-Crawford has contributed to several open-source technologies. These contributions include Ethereum via the Ethereum CPP client, the Ethereum, Smart Contract programming language Solidity, and Servo, a Rust based browser engine designed for a future version of FireFox.
Technology & Executive Career
Broad-Crawford co-founded his first company Within3 where he was the Chief Technology Officer in charge of all Engineering, Design, and Product. Broad-Crawford has also held executive positions at GiveForward (Chief Product Officer), StartupBus (Executive Director), Fooda (Chief Technology Officer) and SpotHero (Chief Product Officer).
Early in his career, Broad-Crawford received an award for being among the 25 under 35 for his work at Within3 [2] and has built several award-winning products at SpotHero[3]. Some of his work has also been featured by Google.[4] and Apple.
