Anthony Cassioppi
Anthony Cassioppi is an American wrestler and collegiate wrestling coach. He competed for the University of Iowa, where he was a four-time NCAA Division I All-American at heavyweight. He won a gold medal at the 2021 Under-23 World Championships in freestyle wrestling.[1]
Early life and high school
Cassioppi is from Roscoe, Illinois, and attended Hononegah High School. He won Illinois state titles and became a nationally recognized heavyweight recruit.[2]
College career
Cassioppi wrestled for the Iowa Hawkeyes in NCAA Division I competition. He became a four-time All-American and helped Iowa win the 2021 NCAA team championship. His best NCAA finish was third place.[3]
Coaching career
In 2024, Cassioppi joined the wrestling staff at the University of Wisconsin as an assistant coach.[4]
