Anthony Lamacchia (born April 30, 1981) is an American businessman, speaker, local television personality, and real estate broker. He is the owner and CEO of Lamacchia Realty and Lamacchia Companies, which include Lamacchia Property Management, Lamacchia Property Development, and Crush It In Real Estate.

Career[edit]

Lamacchia began his career as a real estate agent in 2004. In 2008, he co-founded McGeough-Lamacchia Realty with REALTOR® John McGeough. When McGeough left the company in 2014[1], the company was rebranded to Lamacchia Realty.

In 2012, Lamacchia launched Crush It in Real Estate, a training program for real estate agents taught by Lamacchia and other real estate professionals.

Lamacchia served on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors for several years [DATES?] and served on the Government Affairs Committee for almost a decade [DATES?], serving as Chair of the Committee in 2018 [DATES?]. Lamacchia is a President’s Circle Hall of Fame member of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee, which gives financial support to members of Congress who support real estate causes. Since [DATE?], he has traveled to Washington, D.C., multiple times to meet with members of Congress, members of the Senate, and various regulatory agencies to defend homeownership, distressed homeowners, and mortgage lending.

In 2020, Lamacchia was named a Futurist Forward Thinker by RISMedia and was awarded the Private Property Rights Award by the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR). He was named the Vice-Chair of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Conventional Financing Committee [DATE?], and Real Trends ranked Lamacchia among their list of Game Changers [DATES?].

Lamacchia was named the 2021 Boston Agent Magazine Industry MVP; In 2022, he was named the Managing Broker of the Year [BY WHO?]; In 2021, he was named a RISMedia ‘News Maker.’

In 2022, Lamacchia was appointed Chair of the 2022 Conventional Financing and Policy Committee [at NAR], a member of the 2022 Public Policy Coordinating Committee, and a Member of the 2022 Sustainability Advisory Group by NAR. In 2023, Lamacchia served as the Co-Chairman of the Communities of Interest Committee of the National Association of Realtors.

Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® presented Lamacchia with the Leadership Award at the Global Real Estate Conference in Las Vegas in March of 2022, a highly prodigious award within the real estate industry.

Lamacchia has been invited to speak at industry conferences by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR), Zillow, Inman Connect, and RIS Media. He has been interviewed by the Boston Globe, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.

In November of 2023, plaintiff attorney Michael Ketchmark[2] called Lamacchia shortly after the conclusion of his class-action case[3] Sitzer/Burnett[4] in Missouri, which disrupted the real estate industry on a national level. The crux of the case focused on agent commission rates[5], claiming that real estate agents had manipulated and artificially inflated their commissions on numerous home sales. The jury sided with the plaintiffs, awarding them $1.78 billion in damages[6]. In response to the suit, Lamacchia challenged Ketchmark to an on-stage debate during the January 2024 Inman Connect event in New York.

Early Life[edit]

From a young age, Lamacchia worked at his father’s landscape company, where his grandfather also worked as the company accountant. It was there that Lamacchia learned about business. After buying his first property at age 21 and several more properties by age 23, he realized the real estate industry was where he wanted to spend his career. In 2004, he made the jump into real estate sales with the very agent who helped him buy and sell his first few properties. Lamacchia had immediate success selling numerous properties during his first year in the industry.

Charitable Causes[edit]

Lamacchia is a strong supporter of giving back to the community. In 2017, he set up Lamacchia Cares, an initiative that supports and raises funds for local causes, including the Boston Children’s Hospital (through their Corporate Cup and their annual toy drive), Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the American Red Cross. In 2022, Lamacchia Realty raised $61,647 and was the #1 fundraising team at the Boston Children's Hospital Corporate Cup, bringing the total money raised for the hospital since 2017 to over $225,000.
