Anthony Mays

Anthony Mays is an American author of suspense and thriller fiction. He is best known for the Neil Hammer series and the Halfway to … novels. His works include thrillers, short story collections, and speculative fiction.[1]

Biography

Mays was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He entered military service at the age of seventeen and served for twenty years, including during the Vietnam War. After retiring, he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska–Omaha.[2]

Career

Mays has published novels such as Operation Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas Still Missing, and several entries in the Halfway to … series.[1] He has said that the recurring "Halfway to" titles were inspired by his travels, where ideas for plots often came to him while “halfway to” a destination.[3]

He also maintains a blog, *Author’s Corner*, where he discusses his writing and reflections on literature.[1]

Recognition

His novel Halfway to the Truth was described as "eco-fiction at its best" and received the LiFE (Literature for Environment) Award.[3]
