Anthony Abraham Thomas also known as Tony Thomas is the former chief information officer of Nissan, General Electric, South Asia, and Vodafone India.[1][unreliable source]
Early life and education[edit]
Thomas was born in Mutholy in Kerala. His parents are teachers who belong to Parinthirickal, an ancient Syrian Catholic family.[2] He is the elder of the two sons. His brother Gibu Thomas is the president of Estée Lauder Companies' online division.[3]
Career[edit]
Thomas was a team leader at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, along with Dun and Bradstreet. He was the senior manager at Ernst & Young for 6 years from 1997.[4][5]
In April 2005, he joined Citi Global Banking Operations as a senior vice president.[6] He became the chief information officer (CIO) of Vodafone India in April 2012.[7]
In September 2015, Thomas joined General Electric, as a CIO, overlooking the management of digital and information technology for all businesses in every region outside USA.[8]
Thomas was a CIO at Nissan Motor Corporation Ltd. from October 2017 to March 2020.[2][9]
Amity University, Noida awarded him the "Amity Leadership Award" in 2012 for business excellence.[7]
Personal life[edit]
Thomas is married with two children.[10] They lived in New Jersey, USA until 2012 and moved back to India in 2020.
