Anti-Furry

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

"Anti-Furry" is a name given to those who oppose the furry fandom as a whole, especially any and all aspects having to do with furry sexuality. Some of them are interested in the psychology of the furry community, as many wish to increase their understanding of the fandom. A fair proportion of "Anti-Furries" hold Extremist beliefs including the Far-Right and Nazism, reasons for this are unknown.

"Anti-Furries" are often referred to as "Anti-Furs" for short.

Types of "Anti-Furries"

Within the fandom

  • Members that were previously a member of the furry fandom, that have become disgusted with the furry community, and have expressed a strong dislike for the furry fandom. They may consider themselves as "Anti-Furry" in this case.
  • Members that may only have a dislike for certain aspects of the fandom, such as furry sexuality and NSFW aspects of the furry fandom. In this case they may not consider themselves as "Anti-Furry", and may still consider themselves members of the furry fandom.

Outside the fandom

  • Members that do not associate with the fandom, and are disgusted with certain aspects of the fandom, they find it very unusual and unnatural, which is why they oppose the furry fandom.
  • Hate-Groups that strongly oppose the furry fandom mainly because of negative stigma that surrounds the furry fandom, such as unusual sexualitys, as the LGTBQ community is very prevalent in the furry fandom. Many "Furry-Hate Groups" oppose the LGTBQ community, mainly because of Far-Right and Intolerant beliefs. Furthermore, there are stereotypes of social-ineptitude and poor hygiene within the furry fandom.

Anti-furry groups or communities

There are many online communities that possess an "Anti-Furry" agenda, websites and communities such as 4chan and Vivisector, the members of these websites will usually oppose the furry fandom and will often insult and harass members of the Furry Fandom on those websites. Furthermore, there are groups that are dedicated to opposing the furry fandom, such as the so-called "Anti-Degenerate League (ADL)".

Social Media

There has been a rise of "furry hate accounts" on social media, platforms including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. These accounts promote and post content that is often associated with an "Anti-Furry" agenda, including posts that publicly shame, harass and bully members of the Furry Fandom for their interest. Furthermore, these accounts will often post content that "Exposes" the darker aspects of the furry fandom, which often includes allegations of Bestiality, Zoophilia and Pedophilia. These accounts will also sometimes create Propaganda content, that is meant to stigmatize the furry fandom and will attempt to recruit more members to join the "Anti Furry" movement.
