Antifrost[1] is an independent record label whose output blends experimental electronica, drone, chamber music, pop, and noise music. Based in Athens[2], Greece,it was founded by Greek artist ILIOS in Barcelona, Spain in 1997. It has since released more than 75 albums working with artists from all over the world. First release of the label was "Encyclopedia" by ILIOS in 1997 and by the end of the 2000s a large group of renown sound artists had albums released on Antifrost: Francisco Lopez (Spain), Sachiko M (Japan), Daniel Menche (USA), Zbigniew Karkowski, (Poland), Lasse Marhaug (Norway) among others. The last 10 years, the label's output gravitates around the Greek chamber doom formation "MMMD" aka "Mohammad" whose members are ILIOS and Nikos Veliotis (formerly also Coti K)
In 2006, Joe Colley's "Psychic Stress Soundtracks" release on Antifrost, won an Award of Distinction at the 2006 Prix Ars Electronica in Digital Music. MMMD's soundtrack for the 2017 medieval horror film Hagazussa[3] received various nominations.
