Antone Belt

Antone ("Tone") Belt (born February 10, 1987 in Bethesda, Maryland) is an American former track and field athlete who competed in jumping events. Belt won the silver medal in the long jump at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China.[1] He was the winner at the 2007 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships and runner-up at the 2007 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Belt was the first ever track and field collegiate national champion for the Louisville Cardinals, a seven-time NCAA All-American, the first ever Cardinals athlete to earn a World Championship medal and the school record holder in indoor/outdoor high jump and long jump and outdoor 4 × 400 m relay.[2][3]

He was a member of the University of Louisville track and field team[4] during the years 2005-2010 [5] and a 2005 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. Belt graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science (Sport Administration) and Master of Education (Public Health) in 2012.[6]

Belt placed fifth in the long jump and tenth in the high jump at the 2007 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships.[7] He participated at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials but was eliminated in the first round of the long jump in 20th place.[8]

His highest global rankings were 75th in the outdoor high jump and 79th in the outdoor long jump in 2006,[9][10] as well as 18th in the indoor long jump in 2007,[11]
