António Fontes (26 June 1983) is a Portuguese sailor with a degree in piloting from the School Nautica Infante D. Henrique. He represented Portugal at international competitions[citation needed], and was part of professional teams. In addition to competing, he is also dedicated to the delivery of boats, which has led him to cross the Atlantic four times already.

Fontes began to sail with his grandfather very early, when he reached the age to enter the Optimist, then progressed through L'Equipe and 420 with some participations in international championships. He sailed big boats both racing and for deliveries, and was part of some crews including the 'Luso Roux'. He studied at the Nautical School Infante Dom Henrique to become an officer and served onboard vessels as Officer of the Watch. In 2006 he joined the professional match racing team led by Alvaro Marino, 'Seth Sailing Team', where he participated in several championships on the world circuit. He has crossed the Atlantic to Brazil three times.

In September 2015, Fontes took part in the Mini Transat, a solo race from France to the Caribbean in a small sailing boat of 6.5 meters. He ranked 18th in the first stage between France and the Canary Islands and 10th in the second stage between the Canary Islands and Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. In the overall standings, with the sum of the times on the two stages, he was in 13th place in the series class.
