Antonio Martínez Richa is a Mexican scientist. He has been working as Professor of Polymer Science in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Guanajuato since August 1995. His research has focused on the following topics:
- Solid-state NMR, liquid crystal polymers, polyimides, aliphatic polyesters by chemical methods and biocatalysis, biomaterials, biodegradation tests, nanomaterials, structure property relationships.

Biographical Data[edit]
First studies[edit]
He studied high school at the Centro Universitario México AC. There is no scientific background in his family. However, the motivation generated in him by the Marist education of this institution to study a scientific career, motivated Antonio to pursue a degree in a career related to Chemistry. He completed his undergraduate degree at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in the period 1975-79.
Graduate studies[edit]
He entered the Chemistry Department of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the IPN (CINVESTAV-IPN) in the period 1980-1985, where he obtained the Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry.
After a few years working in the Mexican industry, he completed his doctoral studies (PhD in Macromolecular Science and Engineering) at the Department of Macromolecular Science, Case Western Reserve University, under the direction of Dr. Jack L. Koenig (RIP). He completed his studies in January 1994.
Teaching experience[edit]
Dr. Martínez Richa has taught more than 100 courses related to the Synthesis and characterization of polymers, Polymer physical chemistry, spectroscopy, chemometrics, chemical kinetics, Physical Chemistry of surfaces, among others.
