Anupam Sarkar is an Indian Actor and Comedian known since his first appearance in Mirakkel. He is known for his works as a mimicry artist of Bhanu Bandopadhyay. He also holds two Guinness World Records for creating the longest chain of staples and the longest string of seeds/pips. He also appeared on many other TV shows and radio.

Early Life[edit]

Anupam Sarkar was born on 1 July 1986 at Santipur in the district of Nadia, West Bengal, India. He studied at Santipur Municipal High School and attended Rabindra Bharati University for higher studies.

Career[edit]

Anupam's interest in acting began in his childhood. During school, he performed the lead role in the stage drama version of the famous Bengali movie Bhanu Pelo Lottery. Apart from this he also gained fame as a mime artist of Charlie Chaplin. To pursue acting, Anupam attended the Rabindra Bharati University in the Department of Drama and Theatre. Alongside studies, he continued featuring in television and radio shows. He was brought to everyone's notice when he appeared as a participant in the second installment of the Zee Bangla TV show Mirakkel.

Guinness World Records[edit]

On 1 July 2018, Anupam broke the record of Mackenzie Martin for making the longest chain of staples and got his name written in the Guinness Book of World Records for the first time; though this record was again broken on 30 December 2019. He achieved this feat by creating an 1819 feet long chain of staples with bare hands. He attempted again on 30 June 2019 and successfully broke another record of making the longest string of seeds (1742 feet). This record of Zdzislawa Szydlowska was broken after 18 years.
