Aperian Global is a privately-held international consulting and training company based in Oakland, California.[1][2]

The company was founded in 1990 by Dr. Ernest Gundling and Ted Dale as Intercultural Training Resources Incorporated.[1][2] In its early years, the company focused on providing talent development seminars around Silicon Valley, later branching out into other countries while also offering training and consulting.[3]

Intercultural Training Resources Incorporated merged in 2005 with Eaton Consulting Group and rebranded as Aperian Global after the Latin verb aperire, which means to open or provide access.[3] Aperian Global has offices in Boston, Massachusetts; Oakland, California; Kolding, Denmark; Bangalore, India; Paris, France; Shanghai, China; Tokyo, Japan; and Singapore.[2]

Aperian Global is best-known for GlobeSmart, an online learning platform that enables collaboration among team members from different countries, cultures, and languages.[2][4] GlobeSmart was originally released in 1999, and as of 2020 it is used by more than one million users in over 100 countries.[3]
