Apink BnN (Hangul에이핑크-BnN, also known as Bomi & Namjoo, BnN or Pink BnN) is the first sub-unit of South Korean girl group Apink, formed by Play M Entertainment in 2014. It is composed of two Apink members: Bomi and Namjoo. The sub-group has released a single: My Darling, a b-side track Heaven (Lost Pieces), and three Original Soundtracks: I Pray 4 You, Wish You Are and Strange throughout the years.

History

Before the announcement of Apink BnN, Apink released their fourth EP, Pink Blossom on March 31st[1]. The album single Mr. Chu later debuted at number 2 on Billboard's Kpop Hot 100[2], and was officially the 8th bestselling digital song in 2014. In June 2014, following the successful debut of Mr. Chu, Play M announced the sub-unit of the South Korean girl group Apink. Play M decided to form a sub-unit called Apink BnN composed of the two lead vocalists of Apink, Bomi and Namjoo[3], who released their first single My Darling for Brave Brothers' 10th Anniversary Project.[4] The song later featured on their fifth EP Pink Luv.

My Darling sold 100,271+ and debuted number 17 on Billboard's Kpop Hot 100[5][6]. The subgroup BnN was created because fans had asked numerous times for Bomi and Namjoo to be put in a sub-unit, which led Play M, formerly known as A Cube Entertainment, to consider and successfully form the subgroup. In September and October 2013, both were invited for two weeks straight to Weekly Idol to help energize their nation’s soldiers. Compared to Apink, BnN’s main focus is each member's vocal ability, while the original group places more emphasis on the overall abilities and performances. The group has released a few ballads for Korean Dramas and have their own featuring song Heaven (also known as Lost Pieces) written by both Bomi and Namjoo on Apink's album Dear from December 2016. The name Pink BnN or BnN, is made up of the first syllables of Bomi and Namjoo including the Pink from their original group name Apink.

Since Apink has been an active girl group since their debut in 2011, BnN hasn't had the chance of releasing a debut album yet, but continually releases and writes songs together. On August 2017 they released their Original Soundtrack I Pray 4 You for the Korean Drama School 2017[7]. A year later they released another Original Soundtrack Wish You Are for Matrimonial Chaos, and in February 2019 they released Strange for I Hate You Juliet.

Since early 2019 the sub-group haven't released or taken part in any activities together.
