Apples Demo Mode
Apple Retail (Demo) Mode
The Apple retail mode is used by Apple and apple authorized resellers to display and promote Apple devices in retail stores. Typically you would have to enroll in Apple’s resell program to enable demo mode. During demo mode, an application called DemoLoop will play a screen saver until the product is interacted with. You can download a few of them.
How to enable Demo mode
Even as a non-SEED user you can enable demo mode. Here's how.
On macOS Devices:
- Create a separate disk partition in disk utility
- Install macOS on the new disk
- On another device go to demounits webste
- Use the map to select the store (doesn't matter)
- Enter the serial number of the device you want to use in demo mode (the one you added the partition on)
- Boot up into startup options, launch on the new partition
- Complete setup as normal, when prompted enter the verification code.
