The Appleton Youth Education Initiative,[2] is a student-driven, education nonprofit that was created to better prepare young people for the transition into adulthood and lifelong learning through the design, execution, and funding of innovative educational programs.[3]
Commonly known as AYEI, the Appleton Youth Education Initiative has helped to build Appleton, Wisconsin into a center for innovation in technology education: the AYEI has partnered with Microsoft Philanthropies, Plexus Corp., Miron Construction, Schneider National, and Stellar Blue Technologies to organize the Appleton Tech Clinic and HackAppleton, a popular annual hackathon that draws students from all over Wisconsin.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Early history
AYEI was founded by Ivan Fan in April 2009, who as of 2018 was the Head of Growth at Correlation One.[11]
