Synopsis[edit]
On 20-21 April 1992, a late spring snowstorm struck portions of South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri, one of the latest winter season heavy snows on record in the region [1]. Schools were closed across much of the region [2], and the snow melted quickly with temperatures reaching 90 degrees in Omaha on 30 April [3]. The high of 32 on 22 April in Omaha, and 31 in Sioux City, marks the latest day on record in spring where those locations have not seen a temperature above freezing [4][5].
