April McClain-Delaney is a regulatory lawyer and the Washington Director for Common Sense Media. She is the wife of former Congressman John Delaney who is seeking a bid for President of the United States of 2020.[1]

[3][6][5][7]Along with her college degrees, she is officially licensed to practice law in Washington D.C. and in New Jersey because she is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association. [2]

Career[edit]

After her twenty five years in her field, she currently works as a director for Common Sense Media, a kid's media watchdog group, starting in 2000.[3][8] Before working for this establishment, she had worked for multiple non-profit organizations and private sectors, such as Orion Network Systems and Cohn & Marks. [2][3]

With Common Sense Media, she hosted an event to educate parental figures about some technology issues that are prevalent today. Common Sense Media had seen the differences in knowledge about technology, and had wanted to rectify this issue. The younger generations have been surrounded by technology for most of their lives, and as they age, it becomes a vital part of their daily routine. The solution that the company had designed was to educate the parental figures so that they could be more knowledgeable about what platforms their dependent is utilizing. [9]

After their engagement, John Delaney was looking to move into a different estate with her. She had wanted to move back to the area which she grew up with, and he wanted to move to New York City; since these two locations are vastly different, they decided to compromise and make Potomac, Maryland, the area that they would settle down in.[1][14]
