Ara Chackerian graduated from Florida State University School of Business with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing and Business Management.

He served as the founder and CEO of BMC Diagnostics from June 2001 to July 2007, until the company was acquired by Health Diagnostics. Later that same year, Chackerian joined ASC Capital Holdings as general partner. He has served with the company since and currently operates as managing partner. His current focus “is to help bridge the gap between technology and the healthcare field, understanding that implementing the right tools can make the process of providing healthcare more streamlined, and provide for better patient outcomes due to better real-time data sharing and much more.”

In 2009, Chackerian joined both the Hatlen Center and PipelineRx as a board member. He joined the Hatlen Center in January; the organization is dedicated to educating adults eighteen and over who are blind or visually impaired on how to live independently. He joined PipelineRx in November; the company, guided by pharmacist experts, offers a cloud-based pharmacy platform, providing a channel of communication among clinical pharmacists. In fact, Chackerian was a co-founder of PipelineRx.

As a philanthropist, Chackerian served as Chairman Emeritus at Juma Ventures since January 2011. Juma Ventures is a “nonprofit social enterprise that operates businesses with the purpose of employing young people.” They are dedicated to ensuring that their clients earn income, learn the essential skills to properly manage their finances, and warrant that they are prepared for a path to a career. Chackerian focuses on assisting in poverty alleviation through his commitment with the program.

Chackerian has also assisted with other youth development non-profits included CREA Nicaragua and Nor Luyce. CREA Nicaragua, which started in May 2011, works with local community organizations and schools in Nicaragua to promote literacy and education. Nor Luyce Mentoring Center for Youth, better recognized as simple Nor Luyce, based in Armenia, is dedicated to giving girls in the community means to becoming healthy, self-sufficient, and globally aware young women, with the intention of providing them the opportunity to build the skills necessary to set career goals and achieve them.

In January 2012, Chackerian joined as a board member at Mint Medical Education, a company that invests in producing the highest quality programs contributed by the leading experts in the field of ultrasound – they offer ultrasound laboratory services as well as education for users of ultrasound technology.

Most recently, in January 2015, Chackerian founded TMS Health Solutions. Based in San Francisco, TMS Health Solutions is an integrated behavior healthcare provider. TMS Solutions is comprised of a team of clinicians and staff who are dedicated to research, education, and treatment to those with mental health conditions. Specifically, they are focused on helping those with Treatment-Resistant Depression and provide the most advanced therapies, such as Transcranial Magnetic Simulation (TMS). TMS therapy is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to reduce symptoms of depression.

In addition to the above positions, Chackerian held leadership positions at PSS/World Medical, a publicly traded international medical products distributor. During this time with the company, he had direct profit and loss responsibility for eleven distribution facilities, employing 400 people, and representing $150 million in annual revenues. Furthermore, Chackerian is the recognized founder of Embion/ProviderLinks, a technology-leveraged distribution company focused on the health care industry.

Today, Chackerian is an avid angel investor in early stage health care companies. He is dedicated to promoting sustainable living. He currently works directly with Limoapa Teak, a sustainable teak farm in Nicaragua. The farm utilizes environmentally-friendly agricultural practices so that the operation can enhance the local environment, as well as provides hundreds of well-paying jobs for residents in the local communities.
