Arabic Virtual Translation Center

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Arabic Virtual Translation Center is a general-purpose language translation and publishing company based in New York City. [1] It was founded in 1980 and incorporated as a limited liability company in 2010.

The main goal of the business is to translate major Arabic Islamic works and publish them in the English language. The company adds extensive commentary to the translation to make the finished product comprehensive, yet easy to read and understand for those not familiar with the subject being discussed. The company emphasizes the importance of comparative religion and provides readers with the tools necessary to look at multiple sides of the same monotheistic belief and allows them to reach their own conclusions as to which is real, and which is fictitious or mythical.

Since all essential Islamic texts, including the Qur'an and hadith, were written more than 1400 years ago, they require not only competent Arabic linguists to understand them, but also expert English translators to interpret them. The Arabic Virtual Translation Center is in a unique position to provide both. That is why the center has been able to succeed in its mission and provide new material to academicians and students of Islam.

Three books by the company in particular have met with some success and been quoted often by major organizations including Wikipedia. The book "Al-Nawawi Forty Hadiths and Commentary" is used as a textbook and can be found in many school libraries. [2] The book "1000 Qudsi Hadiths: An Encyclopedia of Divine Sayings" is the biggest collection of qudsi hadiths. The book has received positive reviews on bookseller sites and elsewhere. And the book "Encyclopedia of Sahih Al-Bukhari" is widely viewed online for research and study. The book contains more than a million words and covers all aspects of Islam from the start of revelation to the death of the Prophet. It outlines all the sharia laws.

The Arabic Virtual Translation Center was founded by Mr. Mohammed H. Arar, the current president of the company. [3] Mr. Arar was born in 1963 in Jericho in Palestine and grew up and went to high school in Amman, Jordan. He moved to New York at the age of 17 and attended New York University and Pace University.
