Mohsin Mohammad Arafat[1] (born November 14 1994), popularly known as Arafat Mohsin or Arafat Mohsin Nidhi, is a Bangladeshi music director, composer, singer and filmmaker. He is best known for his music work in the films Surongo (2023), Toofan (2024), Borbaad (2025) and Taandob (2025).

Early life

Arafat Mohsin born on 14 November 1994 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1] His father's name Shamsuzzamam Akhanda and mother's name Mahmuda Begum. His maternal grandfather Abdus Sobur, an actor and art director, and his maternal uncle Ahmed Fazal is the founder of Nova. So he grew up with films and music from childhood.[2][3]

Career

In 2009, Arafat Mohsin made his debut in the music industry by creating a jingle.[4] After few years, he made "Valobashi Tai" telefilm's song titled "Jol Shopno" with Palbasha Siddique, directed by Shihab Shaheen.[2][5]

In 2016, he made his debut as a music director with the film Ice Cream, directed by Redoan Rony.[6] Later, he earned widespread acclaim for his work in the films Iti, Tomari Dhaka (2018), Damal (2022), Surongo (2023), Toofan (2024), Borbaad (2025), Insaaf (2025), Daagi (2025) and Taandob (2025).[7][8]

In 2011, he ventured into direction with "Jonakpoka", an Eid special telefilm.[9] His directional short film "Everything is Nothing" was screened at Nepal International Film Festival and more.[10] In 2025, he directed Chorki's first flash fiction "Khub Kachheri Keu", starring FS Nayeem and Sunerah Binte Kamal.[11][12]
