Arago Jamal (born 28 August 1993) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who currently plays as a utility player for Kosovo superleague side FC Drita.[2]

Early life[edit]

Although Arago was born in Accra he grew up in Tamale, Ghana and is originally from Gambaga in the Northern part of Ghana. He started playing football in Tamale where he captained his primary school, as well as his junior high school football teams. Arago attended Labone Senior High School in Accra.

Club career[edit]

Arago played his colts football with kingdoko Babies until he participated and emerged the winner of the MTN Soccer Academy Reality show, Ghana-Nigeria edition in 2009.[3] His performance on the show won him a professional contract with Sporting Mirren in Ghana and shortly afterwards he joined Berekum Chelsea FC in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.

FC Twente[edit]

Arago was scouted in Germany during the Yokohama U19 tournament held in Stuttgart Germany where the U20 of Brekeum Chelsea won in 2011. He was sent on a long term tryout with FC Twente U20, Holland.[4]

Atromitos[edit]

His stint with FC Twente led to a sealed contract with Atromitos in Greece. In 2012 Arago signed a three-year professional contract with Atromitos, but due to injury Arago stayed out until 2015. He mutually agreed with the club to terminate the contract over a contractual dispute.[5] He later joined Kosovo Superleague side, SC Gjilani for a short six months spell.

SC Gjilani[edit]

In 2016 Arago signed a one-year contract with SC Gjilani.[6]

AC Kajaani[edit]

After his stint with SC Gjilani Arago headed over to Finland and joined third division side AC Kajaani.[7] He helped them qualify to the second division.

FC Prishtina[edit]

Arago signed a two-year contract in 2018 with Kosovan side FC Prishina.[8][9]

In 2019 FC Prishtina found themselves in second place in the Kosovan league hence missing out on the championship spot. However, after winning the FA Cup Final they sealed a UEFA Europa League qualification spot. FC Prishtina was knocked out in the second round of the playoffs.

FC Drita[edit]

In 2020 Arago sealed a one-year contract with three times champions of Kosovo, FC Drita.[10]
