Arash DeMaxi (born September 8, 1998) is an American actor and musician.
Acting career[edit]
DeMaxi began performing at 11 years old in local theater and school productions. In high school he was cast in the indie film Quest: The Truth Always Rises alongside Keith Stanfield, Dash Mihok, and Lou Diamond Phillips. In his senior year he was cast by James Franco as the leading role in the film adaptation of Betsy Franco's book Metamorphosis: Junior Year. He attended Dublin High School [1] and graduated in June 2016.
In August 2016, he began his training at Pace School of Performing Arts at Pace University, with a concentration in Acting for Film, Television, Voice-Over, and Commercials (FTVC).[2] He graduated in May 2020.
In September 2018, he made his New York stage debut playing the character "Waco, Texas" in a running of The Mad Dog Blues by Sam Shepard with Sitting Shotgun Theatre Co. in Brooklyn.[3]
Music career[edit]
DeMaxi began playing guitar when he was 4 years old. He released his first EP, Arash DeMaxi[4] in 2018 on all streaming platforms. It contains 3 acoustic tracks recorded at Seaside Lounge Recording Studios in Brooklyn.
His second EP, Old Friend,[5] produced by David M. Lawson at 41 Park Row, was released on November 22, 2019.
Personal life[edit]
Born in Mountain View, California, DeMaxi and his family moved to Dublin when he was 6 years old. Having an Iranian background he is a fluent Farsi speaker.[6] He is an avid soccer fan and supporter of Liverpool F.C. Since graduating from Pace, he has remained good friends with fellow members of the FTVC program such as Tommy Nelson. Currently, he resides in Queens.
