Aravind K T
Aravind K T (born 2 April 2006) is an Indian student and youth advocate from Kolar, Karnataka, recognized for his work in public policy, youth leadership, and grassroots community initiatives.[1] He has received national and international awards for his contributions to youth welfare and leadership.
Early Life and Education
Aravind K T was born on April 2, 2006.[2] He is an alumnus of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, with an expected graduation in 2028.[3]
Advocacy and Initiatives
At IIT Kanpur, Aravind serves as the Secretary of the Public Policy & Opinion Cell (PPOC), where he organizes debates and sessions on public interest topics such as gender equity and climate action.[4] He is also an active volunteer with the National Service Scheme (NSS), leading sanitation and waste management drives in rural villages as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.[5]
In his home state of Karnataka, he initiated "Youth-Led Peace & Dialogue Circles," a grassroots project aimed at fostering inter-community dialogue and conflict resolution. The initiative focuses on training youth leaders in non-violent communication.
Awards and Honours
Aravind has been recognized with the following awards: Devbhoomi Rashtriya Ratan Award (2025), a national award for "Outstanding Contribution to Youth Welfare," presented by the Institute for Social Reforms and Higher Education Charitable Trust. He was featured in the ISRHE'S TIMES SPHERE MAGAZINE for this achievement.[6]
Youth Leadership Outstanding Award (2025), presented by the Asia Pacific Youth Leaders Assembly in Seoul, South Korea. He was recognized as one of the top 50 youth leaders from the Asia-Pacific region.[7]
International Recognition and Delegations
Aravind has been selected to represent India at several international forums focused on youth leadership and sustainable development. These include: United Nations Social Forum (2025) at the Palais des Nations.[8] Japan Youth Summit in Tokyo (2025) as an Accepted Delegate.[9] Asia Youth Summit in Bangkok (2025) as an Accepted Delegate.[10] One World Summit in Milan (2025) as a Self-Funded Delegate.
He was also a shortlisted candidate for the Global Impact Summit in Budapest (2025).[11] In addition, he serves as an official ambassador for the International Computer Science Competition (ICSC).[12]
