There are also local versions of this dish in Iraq and Egypt.

Name[edit]

The word 'Arayes' is a plural version of 'Aros' (عروس), which means 'bride' in Arabic. The name originates from Arab countries and certain tribes in them where they used to serve this dish in honor of newlyweds.[1]

Ingredients[edit]

The two main ingredients to this dish are minced meat and Arabic bread, however several other ingredients are also added to the dish at various stages of preparations such as, onions, peppers, tomatoes, garlic and spices. It's also possible to replace minced beef with chopped chicken.
