Ardavan Sarraf (born December 19th, 1972) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known for being a core member of The Fab Four,[1] a California tribute band dedicated to The Beatles,[2] and his own band Wingsband, another tribute band dedicated to Paul McCartney and Wings.[3] He impersonates Paul McCartney.[1] Sarraf, who is a natural right-hander, taught himself how to play the bass left-handed to impersonate McCartney.

Early life and childhood

Ardavan Sarraf was born on December 19, 1972 in Los Angeles, California.[4] Growing up, he was a fan of Star Wars, more specifically the original trilogy.[citation needed] When he was about eight years old, John Lennon died. Since he didn't know why everyone was sad over him, Sarraf discovered his older sister's cassettes when he was ten, which included the Beatles' Red and Blue albums. The first song he recalled listening to was "I Want to Hold Your Hand."[citation needed]

The Fab Four

Sarraf's music career began in 1994, he was already an Paul McCartney impersonator and was part of a Beatles tribute band.[5] In the Summer of 1997, Sarraf was performing McCartney's song "Coming Up" at a sound-alike contest at a music convention in Los Angeles.[1] There, he met fellow musician Ron McNeil, and they started to become friends, often talking on the phone.

The two eventually formed the tribute band The Fab Four, with McNeil impersonating Lennon and Sarraf as McCartney. completing them is their friends Michael Amador as George Harrison and Rolo Sandoval as Ringo Starr.

Wingsband

Shortly after The Fab Four was founded, Sarraf eventually decided to form a band dedicated to Paul McCartney and Wings, as he grew up in their era. Naming it "Wingsband", the band often performs some of McCartney's biggest post-Beatles hits.[3]
