Aref Jalayeri (born June 16, 1989) (Persian: عارف جلایری) is an Iranian musician and composer.[1]
Life
Jalayeri was born on June 16, 1989, in Mashhad, Iran. He began exploring music and photography in his childhood, supported by his parents and tutored by his father, a photographer. He was drawn to the dotar, a traditional instrument that became central to his artistic identity. Jalayeri is a folklore musician, vocalist, and plays the dotar and piano. His work blends traditional Persian and Kurdish melodies with contemporary styles, creating innovative folklore-pop music. He aims to tell stories through his music, connecting the past with the present and integrating Eastern and Western musical traditions. His recent projects focus on leading and arranging in Persian folklore-pop, aiming to honor tradition while embracing modern interpretations.[2][3][4][5]
