Arena Araban

Arena Araban (Persian: گود عربان) is a very old neighborhood in the center of old Shiraz, Iran which was considered the capital of old Shiraz during the Qajar period and before that.[1][2]
In this old neighborhood, there was an inn, which was mostly used by Arabs due to its proximity to the south of Shiraz. There was a pit (Arena) in the courtyard of this caravanserai where travelers and Arabs used to place their goods for trade. For this reason, this neighborhood is called Arena Araban. Until a few years ago, there were traces of the ruins and walls of this caravanserai.
