Brief Introduction
Arena Breakout is a hardcore tactical free-to-play first-person shooter mobile game under development by MoreFun Studios Group
Players enter a match with others called a “raid”. The ultimate goal of the game is to extract from a fictional location named the “Dark Zone” with a full load of loot. The loot can be stashed within the storage system or sold in exchange for game currency.[1]
Game Modes
Two Modes
There are two playable modes in the game, namely, “Covert Ops” mode and “Tac Ops” mode.[1].
In Covert Ops mode, players enter the Dark Zone as a rogue, and their equipment is randomly generated by the system. All loot stored in the players’ backpack can be brought out after a successful extraction.
In the Tac Ops mode, players enter the Dark Zone as agents. They need to carry their own weapons, gear, and items based on their goals of the operation. If players fail to extract, they will lose everything except for the items in their secure container and keychain.
Maps and Boss
Maps
There are three available maps in Arena Breakout (Closed Beta), namely, Farm, Valley, and Northridge. Each map has a different Boss with their own tactical style. Eliminating Bosses in their possible spawn locations can offer high-value loot (see guide).
| Map | Introduction | Videos |
| Farm | Located in the plain region of Central Marulos, this place is full of agricultural production facilities. Recently, a transport convoy was ambushed here, attracting various factions to fight for intelligence. | Guide |
| Valley | In the coastal region of Eastern Kamona lies a secluded valley surrounded by mountains on three sides. Once a thriving commercial town and a popular tourist attraction, the place is now in ruins after the war. The war may have destroyed the views here, but some people still decided to stay and make a living. | Guide |
| Northridge | A scenic spot in the Onotos Mountains. It was once a popular vacation destination for the rich people from Carmona. To the north are the snow-capped mountains, and the town of Onotos lies below the southern observation deck. After the war, it lost its former prosperity. | Guide |
BOSS
BOSSes have a chance to spawn in the maps Farm, Valley and Northridge. The spawn location of a BOSS is random and valuable loot is dropped after a boss is eliminated.
| Name | BOSS Intro |
| Ajax | The sergeant under Renoir was sent to guard the farm. As a soldier, Ajax is not only proficient in operating all kinds of light weapons, but also good at using smoke grenades to launch attacks. |
| Doss | The local serpent who occupied Beach Villa enjoyed a luxurious life there. He values his life above all else, will call for support when he smells danger, and sometimes even turn to Blackgold International for help. |
| Frade | Fred, a former agent, discovered the great opportunities hidden in Northridge and decided to leave the team and work alone.
As a skilled veteran, he is not only good at using shotguns to deal with incoming enemies in indoor combat, but also using sniper rifles to deal with distant threats in open outdoor areas. |
| Renoir | Renoir was a very good military commander before he was abandoned. With his team of elite guards and heavy body armor, Renoir fears no threat. No one has survived from their heavy fire. |
Character
Before entering the game, players are required to create a character with a series of customizations by selecting face shape, hairstyle, and hair color.
In addition, the character's tops, gloves, trousers, shoes, and hats can be customized in the wardrobe system.
There are three kinds of stats the player must maintain throughout the raid, these include the players’ health points and their energy and hydration levels. The character's HP is distributed to all parts of the body, namely, the head, chest, hands, legs and stomach. (Example) Each part will have a different resulting impact after being injured. The corresponding part turns red after injury, and the more severe the injury, the color displayed in the player’s health system will become darker as a result. If the HP bar of the specified part (i.e. head or thorax) becomes exhausted, it will be displayed “as” the color - black and players will be eliminated from the raid directly.
For other parts of the body, if they continue to be injured after being completely exhausted, the damage will be apportioned between the other parts of the body.
The character cannot automatically regenerate health, but they can be healed either inside or outside ‘the Dark Zone’.
| Parts | Destruction Results | Picture |
| Head/Thorax | You will be eliminated directly. | |
| Arms | Your gun and lens will wobble, resulting in an inaccurate aim and slower search speed. | |
| Stomach | Significantly increases thirst and stamina reduction speed. | |
| Legs | Reduces your movement speed; more damage will be taken while jumping. |
Weapons and Items
Guns
There are eight kinds of guns in Arena Breakout: assault rifles, submachine guns, shooter rifles, bolt rifles, light machine guns, shotguns, carbines, and pistols, as well as sabers and throwable weapons (example).
Equipment
The equipment in the game includes traditional body armor, ballistic helmets, backpacks, tactical rigs, as well as unique masks and headphones. Players can improve their defense by equipping specific equipment (detail).
| Equipment | Introduction |
| Body Armor | Used to mitigate damage |
| Ballistic Helmet | Used to protect and reduce potential damage towards the head |
| Backpack | To store loot |
| Tactical Rig | Used to store magazines, and medicines |
| Mask | In addition to the helmet, it effectively shields the face where the helmet does not cover from potential damage |
| Headphone | Headphones can get a wider range of sound reception and help players gain a greater information advantage |
Consumable Goods
There are three main types of consumables in the game, namely, loot, medicine and food, and game currency.
| Type | Introduction |
| Loot | Loot can be obtained by searching crates, safes, drawers and more within a map. |
| Medicines and Food | Obtained by searching on the map or purchasing through the market. They can be used to treat injury or improve physical strength. |
| Game Currency | There are four game currencies: Koen, Gold, Coupons, and Bonds.
Koen can be obtained through map collection, completed tasks, and sold items; Gold can be exchanged by Bonds and be used to buy items; Coupons can be obtained through the battle pass system, and they can be exchanged for certain items. Bonds can be obtained by making in-app purchases. |
Featured System
Gunsmith
In the game, weapons can be modified through a variety of attachments including the muzzle, barrel, rear sight, magazine, grip, base and scope to improve weapon stats (detail).
Commonly used attachments in the game include silencers, extended barrels, expansion receivers, corner grips, sights and stocks. Weapons should be equipped with attachments to improve their performance and gain an edge over enemies in a gunfight.
Task
Tasks are mainly divided into three categories: main tasks, daily tasks, and weekly tasks.[2]
Main tasks: players can accept main tasks through contacts. There are 7 contacts in the Dark Zone, which can be unlocked throughout the player’s level progression. With the exception of Rodrigues, every contact will give players a special task. The rewards for accomplishing these special tasks are quite generous, including but not limited to Koen and a large number of experience points, but also some weapons and armor, which is an important way to progress quickly through the levels and gain an advantage in the early stage of the game.
Daily tasks: in a specific period of time, players can set a number of specific action goals, complete them, and receive certain rewards.
Weekly tasks: 5 weekly tasks with different difficulties are released every Monday, which can be completed to receive Koen and gift boxes that can contain high-value items.
Market
In the game, players will find items and materials that can be later exchanged. After taking these items out of a raid, they can be exchanged into Koens through the market, and then be used to buy necessary materials, equipment, and weapons attachments from the market.
(In addition to the market, players can also buy some items at the contact.)
There will be a shelf fee charged when items are put on the market, as well as a transaction fee charged when the item is purchased.
Clan
In the game, players can join a clan, create a clan, view applied clans, receive clan invitations, and so on.
If the player meets the rank and level requirements set by the clan, and the clan is not full (up to 15), then the player will be able to join the clan successfully after the captain approves their application.
Players can also create a clan after selecting the clan logo, entering the clan name, and paying 15,000 Koens.
