Biography[edit]
Arent Weevers, Ede, April 1, 1958
Weevers lives and works in Hengelo, the Netherlands. He makes video and multimedia installations since 2000. Weevers studied at the College for Social Work Haarlem, Theology at the Free University of Amsterdam and the University of Leiden. He made multicultural youth theater productions with Karim Traïdia. Weevers is curator of the international biennale for multimedia art Moving Images (since 2007) and Art Stations of the Cross (with Anikó Ouweneel-Tóth, 2020).
He is als a students pastor at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences for the Protestant Congregation in Deventer, and minister at the Protestant Congregation in Hengelo (Overijssel, The Netherlands).
Arent Weevers is specialized in the relatio between religion and visual arts, especially spirituality and media art. In his works Arent Weevers shows the paradox between vulnerability and vitality.
