Ari Engel is a Canadian professional midstakes poker player active on both the pro tour and the amateur tour—with perhaps his best results on the amateur tour, with 15 circuit rings, versus 2 bracelets on the pro tour—although one of the bracelets came in the World Series of Poker Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better World Championship (2021) ($317,076).[1]
Engel's best result to date is a first place finish in the 2016 Aussie Millions Main Event, his only 7-digit score, for $1,120,110.[1]
Engel has a way of oversimplifying the game, making good plays in tough spots.[2][3]
As of August 2023, Engel's total live tournament winnings exceeds $8,300,000.[1]
