Aris Lukas Garcia is an American politician and businessman who is currently the Elected Village Clerk of Streamwood[1]. He also serves as the Republican Committeeman for Hanover Township[2].
Personal life
Life in Germany
Aris Garcia was born in 1999 in Estenfeld, Germany. He was raised by his mother, Daniela Amend, and father, David Stemm. In Germany, Garcia spent most of his life in an apartment complex in Estenfeld, only moving to the Warner Barracks Army base[3] in Bamberg, Germany, at the age of 13. In Bamberg, he attended Graf-Stauffenberg-Realschule [4].
Life in the USA
Garcia immigrated to the Florida in 2014 quickly integrating and earning the American Legion scholar award[5]. He attended Central Florida Aerospace Academy [6] for 4 years until relocating to Illinois in 2018 and attending Northern Illinois University. In 2023, Aris Garcia became a Naturalized citizen. [7] Aris ran unsuccessfully for State Representative in 2024. [8] In 2025 Aris Garcia was elected Village Clerk, at the time being the youngest serving municipal clerk in Cook County. [9]
Politics
Aris Garcia first became politically active in 2018 when he worked on Governor Bruce Rauner’s re-election campaign. In 2019, he was appointed to the Community Relations Commission in the village of Streamwood.[10] That year, he served as Campaign Manager for the campaign of Rae Yawer in the 2020 Democratic Party primary election for Illinois State Senate (District 22).[11] In 2020, Aris Garcia was elected to the Board of Directors of Des Plaines Friends of the Parks NPO, being their youngest director at 20 years old.[12] In 2024, Garcia unsuccessfully ran for the Illinois state legislative district 49.[13] Aris Garcia was appointed Deputy Committeeman of the Hanover Township Republican Party in 2025 later becoming the Township Committeeman in 2026. He was elected Municipal Clerk in 2025, making him the youngest elected Clerk in Streamwood’s history.
