Arise Foundation
The Arise Foundation is a non-governmental organisation working to prevent slavery and human trafficking.[1] Arise is a registered charity, and is headquartered in London and New York.[2] [3] It was co-founded by John Studzinski and Luke de Pulford.[4]
Arise led the UK campaign to outlaw slavery from NHS supply chains in 2022, which was passed via a government amendment in April.[5][6] The amendment outlawed the NHS procuring equipment produced by any form of forced labour. Evidence had been compiled by Professor Laura Murphy, amongst others, that identified the presence of Xinjiang manufacturers known to be using forced labour in NHS supply chains.[7] They were supported in Parliament by a number of MPs pushing for regulation, including Sir Iain Duncan Smith.[8]
