Arjunraja (born 11 February 1992) is an Indian cinematographer who works across multiple Indian film industries, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, and Bengali cinema. He made his debut as a Director of Photography with the Kannada film Pinki Elli (2019), which won the Best Cinematography Award at the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and received more than 50 international film festival awards.
Early life and education
Arjunraja was born on 11 February 1992 in Triplicane, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, to Rameshkumar and Sudha.
He studied cinematography at the MGR Government Film and Television Institute, Taramani, Chennai, and graduated in 2013 as the gold medalist in Cinematography.
Career
After completing his formal education, Arjunraja worked as an assistant to more than seven cinematographers, gaining experience across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and Kannada cinema.
He made his independent debut as a cinematographer with the Kannada feature film Pinki Elli (2019). The film received critical acclaim for its visual storytelling and won numerous international awards.
A major turning point in his career came with the Tamil science-fiction film Kadaisi Ulaga Por (2024). The film was noted for its distinctive visual language, innovative aspect ratio choices, and immersive cinematography. Critics highlighted his experimental framing, tonal design, and lensing techniques, which contributed to increased recognition within the industry.

Personal life
Arjunraja married Rudradevi in 2015. The couple has two children: a daughter, Mrithika, and a son, Dharmeshwara Yogith. Both children appeared in cameo roles in the Tamil film Sivakumarin Sabhatham (2021).
He lives with his family in India and is known for his distinctive visual style and interest in experimental narrative framing.
