Armandean Tattoo Artist

Armando Munoz A.k.a Armandean was born in October 7th 1986 in Mexico. He lived in Cuautitlán Izcalli located in Estado de Mexico since he was very little.

At school he would usually be in “detention’ for being caught drawing during the classes, he was always immersed in his drawings. His love and passion for drawing since little was probably inspired by his dad, who is also an artist. One of the things he dearly remember are the murals that his father would paint for him and his sister for their bedrooms.

Years passed and Armandean continued his life, studying at school and working close to home, he was preparing for college. It was one day, when he was 21 years old, a clear memory of his friend arriving to the neighbourhood with a shoe box, inside of it there was a tattoo machine, some inks and 1 needle.

His friend came from getting a tattoo, which did not look very good so he asked Armandean to help him fix it. Armandean’s first tattoo happened to be a “cover up”, which he did with no previous knowledge or idea of how to do it, back then he only knew how to draw so he applied the same technique for the tattoo. This was his first encounter with the world of tattoos, a moment that ignited his passion for this art.

Tianguis de Lagunilla was the first tattoo studio he started to work on, then he joined some other important studios from Mexico City such as Gallonegro, Soulflower Custom Tattoo and Tatudemia.

In 2018 Armandean started his own studio “Viernes 13 Tattoo Collective” with the most talented artists in Mexico.

With 10 years in the tattoo industry he managed to attend world renowned conventions around the world and visit many countries as a guest.

Armandean’s particular style is a combination of realism and contemporary art, inspired by the city of NY his dark and vibrant colors make his exceptional pieces a one of a kind.

During his time in NY he met Zhimpa at Darwin at Inknation Studio NYC, he knew them already from previous conventions and he was invited to stay as a guest artist.

Now Armandean is part of the pro team of World Famous Ink, Boycott Tattoo Supplies and works at his own Private Studio in NYC.
