Arne Cornelius Wasmuth

Arne Cornelius Wasmuth (born in 1965 in Hamburg, Germany) is the founding director of The Design Academy Saaleck (dieDAS) and the president of the Marzona Foundation. He is also a heritage preservation and restoration expert, and film and television writer and director.

Personal Life[edit]

Arne Cornelius Wasmuth was born in Hamburg, Germany, and was raised in Hamburg, Seoul, Korea, and Lagos, Nigeria.

He earned a B.A. from Columbia University in New York, an M.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics and an M.A. in Strategies for European Cultural Heritage and Preservation from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt an der Oder. He is currently based in Berlin, Germany.

Career[edit]

Wasmuth’s career has spanned work in television, radio, and film production, as well as the preservation and restoration of historical and protected architecture. He is a published author and a lecturer on cultural heritage related topics.

In 2017, Wasmuth and art collector and patron Egidio Marzona conceived dieDAS, Design Academy Saaleck, a new creative fellowship program for emerging talents from the fields of design, craft and architecture set in Naumburg, Germany. Wasmuth serves as the Academy’s Founding Director and as the President of the Marzona Foundation.[1]
